Meet David
Lowther, you can just call him "Dave". Dave comes to EAR.FM from
deep in the heart of Texas! Here's some more about Dave in his
own words:
"Hey everyone, I'm
Dave...that's it...D....a....v....e. I can barely
pronounce my last name and I'm not creative enough to think of anything
cool other than Tenacious D, and that's already taken. I am from Texas
and I am clinically obsessed with rock. Well any form of rock
really.
Although I did have the Disco Duck record when I was a kid, but I can't
be blamed for that. Can I? Anyway, My musical taste has always
spanned
the gambit, but never strays far from "the devil's music". I've
worked
in radio for a few years now. I've always wanted to be apart of
something that I had a passion for and the platform to present it to
other people so they can get into it as well. There's nothing
better
than the feeling of sharing good music with someone. My beginnings in
radio actually started as an elementary school kid. I would have
a tape
player and a recorder side by side and introduce the band and song
through that intricate little setup. I had a string of
meaningless
jobs for awhile, graduated college with a degree (would you believe) in
Fitness Sports Science and Communication. Personal trained for
awhile
(remind me to tell you the story about the lady I trained who had gas
while attempting the leg press) and later, with high hopes, walked up
to a local
station and told them my desire to be a part of what they were doing
and here I am now. I started mowing the grass around the transmitters
and being in Texas,
that was NOT pleasant during the summer. Plus cows tended to
enjoy my
company out there for some reason. Probably the smell. I've
worked in
every realm of radio, except Christian, which is really fine with
me.
Nothing against it, just not for moi. Besides a passion
for all
things rock, I LOVE Robert Ludlum,
every sport imaginable (yes I include UFC in that. Put Mixed Martial
Arts next to Golf and you tell me which qualifies as a sport).
I'm a
pop culture junkie and watch WAY too much TV. I can also sound
just
like Optimus Prime, love Family Guy and Aqua Teen Hunger Force,
and Shiner Boch Beer! If you haven't had it, do yourself a favor.
A
few things I can't stand are people buying lottery or scratch off
tickets in front of me at the convenience store when I'm in line to buy
only a drink or gas I HAD TO GIVE BLOOD TO PAY FOR and they keep buying
ticket after ticket after ticket AND I'M LATE FOR WORK!!! ::ahem:: I
also can't stand when you hold the door open for someone and they don't
say anything, even thank you which would be nice. But when you
slam it
on their hip they sure do speak up. SO basically I'm a big freakin' kid
and I'm cool with it. I suppose that's a slight summation of me
but if
you want to know anything else, drop me a line! I also have a
