On October 12 & 13, 2007 the second XX tribute shows happened at The Rex Theatre and featured two nights of great music by the tribute band "Generation Double X"

The DJ's attending included: Garret Hart, Deb Brady, Cris Winter, Paul Cramer, Phil Kirzyc and Bob Studebaker.  And via telephone, the reclusive DJ Bird gave a shout out to the audience also from his home somewhere in Florida.   The press this year focused on the musicians and the shows reflected that, with the focus of the shows being on the music of that time (1986-88).   The music of the show reflected the souls of the musicians and how all that music had such a large and lasting impact on our lives.

If there will be another reunion that we participate in (25th Anniversary?????), I would love to see the station go out with a bang and hope that the DJ's will be more involved in organizing the event to help make it a true "station" event.  We could have done a lot more it's true and I hope that will come to pass!

Thanks once again to Rod Schwarz for his tireless effort and preparation to make the music so good, and the glue that solidified the nights.  And thanks to the many great musicians who gave their time and talent that made the nights a smashing success!  

The WXXP website is being redesigned to reflect the past and present history of the DJ's and the music that made it one of the most influential radio stations of the new wave era.  We estimate that the wait for the new site could take a while, so please be patient and check back on this page often to see what's happening and we'll keep you informed of all of it.  There is also a WXXP page up at MySpace but it is only a placekeeper for now. Thanks to all of you for remembering XX!
