ZWAN
From Chicago and Los Angeles. After retiring Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan spent some time producing and touring as an auxiliary member of New Order before going back to a group effort, this time called The True Poets Of Zwan, then The Djali Zwan and later just Zwan. Consisting of Billy Corgan (vocals/guitar), former A Perfect Circle bassist Paz Lenchantin (bass), David Pajo (guitar), Matt Sweeny (guitar) and former Pumpkin Jimmy Chamberlain (drums). Corgan knew that the Pumpkins had reached the end of the road not only due to personal in-band problems but because music had changed since their inception and their relevance was becoming an issue. Now, with a similar looking line-up, Corgan stepped forward and expanded his sound for the new century. The Djali Zwan entity also coexisted and was going to be used for particular acoustic cd releases. However all this fell apart during an international tour when Lenchantin quit, followed by Sweeny and finally Corgan disolved the band entirely. 2003.
