X-RAY SPEX
From England. Led by Poly Styrene (Marion Elliot)(vocals) with Lora Logic (Susan Whitby)(saxophone), Paul Dean (bass), Jak Airport (Jack Stafford)(guitar) and B.P. Hurding (drums). This early British punk band is known for the single "Oh Bondage, Up Yours!". An early force in the punk movement, the band dissolved fairly quickly in 1979. Poly left to join a Hare Krshna sect and made a brief comeback as a solo artist. Hurding moved on to join Classix Nouveau. After reuniting for a live concert in 1991, a new album finally appeared in 1995. Set to make a major comeback, Poly had an accident resulting in a broken hip which has shelved the band again. 1977-79/1995.
