WIRE TRAIN
From San Francisco, California. Led by Kevin Hunter (vocals) with Brian MacLeod (drums), Anders Rundblad (bass) and Jeff Trott (guitar). Consistently great power pop and rock. Surprisingly, this very American band has many multi-cultural reference points. Hunter grew up mostly on the European continent, Rundblad is from Sweden, original drummer Frederico Gil-Sola was Argentinian. Typical label problems forced the band to split briefly then reunite when they changed labels. Later, two complete albums were rejected by their second label prompting the band to split again. Afterwards several members went on as backing musicians for Sheryl Crow. The band reunited for a performance in Los Angeles in January of 2003. 1983-94.
