THE WEDDING PRESENT
From Leeds, England. Led by David Gedge (vocals/guitar) with Simon Cleave (guitar), Jayne Lockey (vocals/bass) and Simon Smith (drums). This band has placed 12 singles into the British Top 30 charts, more than Elvis Presley! This fact has placed them in the Guiness Book of World Records. One of the most popular independent bands in Britain. The band has also released a series of untitled live tapes which they sell to avoid the bootlegging market! In 1997, the band dissolved and Gedge has since released many albums with his new band Cinerama. The Wedding Present returned to action in 2005. 1985-97/2005-present.
