THE WASHINGTON SQUARES

From New York City. Led by Tom Goodkind (guitar/vocals) with Lauren Agnelli (vocals) and Bruce Jay Paskow (bass). 1980's pseudo-folkies in beatnik dress, they sang originals as well as folk classics. Agnelli had formerly been in new wave band Nervus Rex, Goodkind was a local scenester and promoter, while drumming assistance came to the band by unofficial member Billy Ficca (Television/Waitresses). Paskow died suddenly before the band could release their third album, in 1994. In 2004, Agnelli released a jazz flavored solo debut. 1987-88.
