WAS (NOT WAS)

From Detroit, Michigan.  David Weiss and Don Fagenson are the Was Brothers.  Assisted by tenured R&B singers Sweet Pea Atkinson and Sir Harry Bowens, the Was clan redefined funk with sampling and created a distinctly avante garde dance music.  After the band folded, Don Was became a noted record producer while Bowens and Atkinson became The Boneshakers.  The Was legacy lives on as well in the next generation of alternative music, Don Was' son plays drums in Eve 6!  In 2005, the band reformed and toured for the first time in eleven years which culminated in a new album in 2008!  1980-92/2008.
