WALL OF VOODOO

From Los Angeles.  Originally led by Stanard "Stan" Ridgway with Chas T. Gray (keyboards), Bruce Moreland (bass), Marc Moreland (guitar) and Joe Nanini (drums).  Most widely known for their single "Mexican Radio", the band went through two distinct phases.  The first with Ridgway was dark and somewhat psychedelic at times.  Ridgway decided to go solo and was replaced by Andy Prieboy.  This second phase of the band was more pop-like with a cover of a Beach Boys hit as their last single.  Ridgway's solo career began in 1983 and he has been led a project called Drywall for several years.  Prieboy also went on to a solo career. Marc Moreland teamed with Concrete Blonde's Johnette Napolitano for one album as Pretty & Twisted before dying in 2002, following a failed liver transplant.  Nanini died in 2000.  1980-88.
