THE WAILERS

From Jamaica. Formed after Bob Marley's death from secondary Wailers members. The line-up is an ever-evolving membership of original members (based on availability) with new members as well. Members include original Wailers: Aston Barrett and Al Anderson with Junior Marvin, Earl Lindo, Tyrone Downie and Seeco Patterson. The band currently features Lindo and Barett. In 1985, Barrett's father was kidnapped and held for ransom. Barret appealed to Bob Marley's widow for financial help but she refused. His father was later found dismembered and killed. Reggae sounds as pure as it should here. In 1994 Barrett began a legal battle against the estate of Marley and Island records to collect past royalties for his work in the Wailers as songwriter and musical director. Consequently, the band has not performed live on a world tour since 1995. 1989-present.
