From New York City. The leader of Television has had a spotty but creative solo career. Verlaine's talent lies in both his music as well as his lyrics and continues to be an icon of the original New York punk movement. Verlaine is the man who famously talked club owner Hilly Kristal into featuring the bands that would start the New York City punk scene in Hilly's club, CBGB's. 1979-present.
