THE UNDERTONES
From Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Originally hitting big when all members were still in their teens! Led by Feargal Sharkey (vocals) with Damian O'Neill (guitar), John O'Neill (guitar), Mickey Bradley (bass) and Billy Doherty (drums). Known for the punk hit "Teenage Kicks", Sharkey left the band to pursue solo work and was only minimally successful. Conversely, the O'Neill brothers went on to greater success with their new band, That Petrol Emotion. Sharkey in turn became a record company executive and then worked for the British radio authority. In 1999, the band reformed to play live dates and continue to do so without Sharkey. Sharkey's replacement is singer Paul McLoone. A new album was released in 2003. 1976-83/2003-present.
