TRACEY ULLMAN
From Slough, Buckinghamshire, England. Before "Tracey Takes On", before "The Tracey Ullman Show", there was Tracey Ullman, pop star. Already a popular comedian in her native land, international audiences first got to know her from a set of carefully picked cover tunes. Several were hits, including Kirsty MacColl's "They Don't Know", and Madness' "My Girl" retitled as "My Guy". She did it as a joke and when it hit big she was pleasantly surprised. 1982-1985.
