From London. Led by Charlie Harper (David Perez)(vocals) and originally with Nicky Garratt (guitar), Paul Slack (bass) and Pete Davis (drums). Harper started his punk career in his thirties and twenty years on is still going strong! The band is not named after submarines, it is actually a shortened version of their original name: The Subversives. Over the years the band's line-up has changed often, even featuring Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Lars Frederiksen (Rancid). Harper's folly is to release an album whose title starts with every letter of the alphabet. He doesn't have far to go either! The question is, will he finally retire when he reaches his goal? Now enjoying their 47th line up: Charlie Harper (vocals), Alec Campbell (guitar), Andy Wilson (bass) and Gary Baldi (drums). 1978-present.
