TUFF DARTS
From New York City. Originally led by Robert Gordon (vocals) with Jeff Salen (guitar), John DeSalvo (bass) and John Morelli (drums). Tuff Darts showed up early in the New York punk scene and can be heard with Gordon fronting the band on the "Live At CBGB's" cd. By the time a studio contract appeared Gordon had left for his solo rockabilly career and new singer Tom "Tommy Frenzy" McCulloch had taken over on vocals. One of the original CBGB's bands in the New York City punk movement, the band never quite broke into nationwide reknown. In 2002 the Darts reunited for shows (without Gordon) and were planning a new album which would be their first in 25 years. According to Tommy Frenzy's web site, two new Tuff Darts albums were supposed to be released in Japan in 2007. In January 2008, Salen suddenly passed away from a heart attack at age 55. 1978.
