From San Francisco, California. Led by Pat Monahan (vocals/trumpet/saxophone/vibes/percussion) with Jimmy Stafford (guitar/mandolin), Rob Hotchkiss (bass/guitar), Charlie Colin (bass) and Scott Underwood (drums/keyboards). Somehow bands that are the furthest thing from alternative end up in the alternative charts, be it a novelty act, a classic rock artist or as is the case with Train, a standard rock and roll act. This band has more in common with average generic 70's rock than anything alternative in the rap rock 90's, however since music like this isn't really being made anymore perhaps it is alternative...to something that alternative came about as a genre to get away from! For fans of Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, etc. 1996-present.
