TIME ZONE
From New York City. Probably one of the oddest pairings ever! Afrika Bambaataa and Johnny Rotten get down with the unusual dance rap tune "World Destruction". Bambaataa is the only old school hip hop artist presented in this book. His remarkable single "Planet Rock" sampled Kraftwerk to great effect and created the first meeting between the urban and electronic scenes. Similarly, his pairing here with Rotten paired rap and punk for the first time. Bambaataa picked up the name again 12 years later for another release without Rotten. 1984/1996.
