THE THOMPSON TWINS

From London. Led by Thom Bailey (vocals/bass) with Allanah Currie (vocals/percussion). Originally a seven piece piece band that included unofficial member Thomas Dolby and longtime member Joe Leeway, over the years it got down to just the husband and wife team. In 1993, after their career had fizzled, they changed their name to Babble for two albums but changed it back when the interest in 80's bands became popular again. The Thompson Twins named themselves after characters in the comic strip "The Adventures Of Tin Tin". Recent years have practically seen the members disappear entirely but the truth is that Bailey and Currie moved to New Zealand where he has been a producer and she has fronted a movement to stop the use of genetic engineering in food products. The pair were recently divorced. 1980-91.
