THE TEARDROP EXPLODES
From Liverpool, England. Led by Julian Cope (vocals), Gary Dwyer (drums) and David Balfe (keyboards). A heavily influential band that was sometimes referred to in the press as "Liverpool's psychedelic hope". Cope would continue on as a popular artist after the group split. Early member Paul Simpson would later have success with his band The Wild Swans. Interestingly the band never had a permanent lead guitarist! 1979-81.
