THE SOFT BOYS

From Cambridge, England. Led by Robyn Hitchcock (vocals/guitar) and Kimberly Rew (guitar) with Andy Metcalfe (bass) and Morris Windsor (drums). This group first formed in 1973 as The Symptoms. One of the overlooked bands of the early 80's, their music was witty with strong psychedelic pop influences. Most of their music was recorded in a short time period and the music was then released sporadically through the 80's. Metcalfe and Windsor ended up in Robyn Hitchock & The Egyptians. Metcalfe later moved on to become a member of Squeeze for a time as well. Rew formed Katrina & The Waves! The full band reunited for live dates in 1994 and a full album in 2002. 1977-81/2002.
