SIOUXSIE SIOUX
From London. Led by Siouxsie Sioux (Susan Dallon)(vocals) with Steve Severin (Steven Bailey) (bass) and Budgie (drums) with a revolving membership of guitarists including The Cure's Robert Smith, John McGeoch, and John Caruthers. The band formed in the early punk days and early line-ups included Marco Pirroni who would later become one of Adam's Ants, Billy Idol before he joined Chelsea and Sid Vicious on drums before joining The Sex Pistols. Their early sound was raw and drifted from punk into gothic rock which helped establish them. Siouxsie married drummer Budgie (who came to the group from The Slits) and they also have a continuing side band called The Creatures. Siouxsie & The Banshees split up after twenty years as a vocal protest to the reformation of The Sex Pistols. The Pistols started a scene that represented music and not money. When they reformed just for money, Siouxsie made the ultimate statement! However, Siouxsie reformed The Banshees for touring and pretty much voided her so called statement. 2007 saw the relase of Siouxsie's first solo album. 1978-96/2007-present.
