From
London.Formed
by Siobahn Fahey (vocals) and Marcella Detroit (Marcy Levy)(vocals/guitar).Two veteran performers
combined to produce some nice pop.Detroit
formerly worked closely with Eric Clapton and wrote his hit "Lay Down
Sally".Fahey was married to
ex-Eurythmics guitarist Dave Stewart and was a member of Bananarama.Detroit changed her name so the public wouldn't associate her
with the
70's or classic rock scene, she originally hails from New York. The duo made two albums and faded away.In reality however, Fahey kept the band name alive with
contributions to
a few soundtracks and finally a single release that was to precede a
full album
that never appeared.Fahey officially put
the band name to rest in February 2002.They named themselves after a song by The Smiths and
intentionally
misspelled Shakespeare. After much
legal wrangling, the fabled third album
finally appeared in late 2004. Fahey's solo career
was a non-starter so she decided to bring the band name back to life
(again without Detroit) in 2009, releasing a new album of
material. 1989-96/2004/2009-present.
