SCREAMING TREES
From Ellensburg, Washington.
Led by Mark Lanegan (vocals) with Gary Lee Conner (guitar), brother Van
Conner (bass) and Barrett Martin (drums). This
hard rcking outfit is the first grunge act to have an alternative rock hit with
"Bed Of Roses", leading the way for Nirvana, Pearl Jam and all the
rest. The band members quietly
split off into solo projects with Lanegan most visibly becoming the vocalist for
Queens Of The Stone Age and bringing them to hit making status as well. He
quit that job in order to concentrate more fully on his solo work. The
band played their final performance in 2000. 1985-96.
