THE SATELLITE PARTY

From Los Angeles.  Led by Perry Farrell (vocals) with Nuno Bettencourt (guitar) Carl Restivo (bass), Kevin Figuerido (drums) and Etty Lau Farrell (back-up vocals).  After the demise of the reformed Jane's Addiction, Farrell was a little surprised that the whole band bailed out on him and then became The Panic Channel.  Preferring to extend his visions of a mixture of theater and music as a whole, Farrell hooked up with the unlikely choice of former Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.  The two however compliment each other musically and could lead to the next incarnation of a Los Angeles band with staying power.  Jane's Addiction was often compared with The Doors in the way that their dark take on rock was embraced by the Los Angeles clubs and its denizens.  In an interesting move, the first Satellite Party album contains a song built around a previously unreleased piece of Jim Morrison poetry, as read by its author, giving Perry the only opportunity to duet with the dead legend!  2007-present.
