THE RUMOUR
From England. Best known as Graham Parker's backing band, this rag tag band of players came from some of the best pub rock bands of England. Bob Andrews (keyboards) and Brinsley Schwarz (vocals/guitar) of Brinsley Schwarz' self named band, Martin Belmont (vocals/guitar) of Ducks Deluxe, Andrew Bodner (bass) and Steve Goulding (drums). Several albums of their own showed that they were a crack outfit and they backed Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Carlene Carter, Desmond Dekker, Rachel Sweet, Elvis Costello, and of course Graham Parker during their career together. Goulding now drums for The Mekons. 1977-81.
