THE ROMANTICS

From Detroit, Michigan. Led by Wally Palmar (vocals/harmonica/guitar) with Coz Canler (guitar), Mike Skill (bass) and Jimmy Marinos (vocals/drums). This was the original and most popular line up of the band that gave us "What I Like About You", a monster success when first released and again many years later after it was used by a beer company in its commercials. Surprisingly, despite the financial return, the band sued its management for releasing the song for commercial use without its permission! Marinos left for a solo career in 1984 that never really happened and continues to release solo work today. The rest of the band have soldiered on over the years, even taking on Clem Burke of Blondie for drum duty. The current line-up includes Palmar, Skill, Burke and Canler. And even Marinos came back to the band for a short time from 1996-97. 1977-present.
