REPUBLICA
From London. Led by Saffron (Samantha Sprackling)(vocals) with Johnny Male (bass), Tim Dorney (keyboards), Andy Todd (guitar) and Dave Barbarossa (drums). The band's name was inspired by the New Order album of the same name. Saffron formerly sang with N-Joi as well as The Shamen and Jah Wobble. Barbarossa was with both Adam & The Ants and Bow Wow Wow and gave a great sound to the band's first album but has since quit the band. Likewise, Todd seems to have left the band as well which led to a total breakdown of the group. Saffron lent her vocals to a single from The Cure in 2002 and went on to a new project called Swarm. The band regrouped in 2010 for a tour and released a newly recorded version of "Ready To Go" online. 1996-98/2010-present..
