RED ROCKERS

From New Orleans, Louisiana.  Led by John Thomas Griffith (vocals/guitar) with Darren Hill (bass), James Singletary (guitar) and Jimmy Reilly (drums).  Several albums yielded a few minor hits including covers of The Hooters' "Blood From A Stone" and a cover of the 60's classic "Eve Of Destruction".  Their notable hit came in the form of "China", a new wave classic.  The band started as a Clash tribute band called The Rat Finks.  They took their name from the song by The Dils called "Red Rockers Rule".  Reilly was the groups second drummer, having a previous tenure in Stiff Little Fingers.  Reilly and Hill then became members of The Raindogs.  Griffith is now in the popular Cowboy Mouth.  1979-84.
