THE RAIN PARADE

From Los Angeles.  Led by David Roback (vocals/guitar) with brother Steven Roback (bass), Matt Piucci (guitar), Eddie Kalwa (drums) and Will Glenn (keyboards).  A part of L.A.'s paisley underground scene, they derived their name from a sign posted at a San Francisco subway station.  Their music ranged from psychedelic to pop and often had the same touches of jangly guitar that were found in classic bands like The Byrds and Love.  David Roback left after the first album and later formed Opal and Mazzy Star while brother Steven led the band Viva Saturn. Piucci became a member of Crazy Horse.  There was a great web site for both bands, run by Steven that has since unfortunately disappeared.  We leave the link below in case he ever reactivates it.  1982-86.
