PUDDLE OF MUDD
From Kansas City, Missouri. Led by Wesley Scantlin (vocals/guitar) with Paul Phillips (guitar), Douglas Ardito (bass) and Greg Upchurch (drums). The band's name derives from a practice space they used near the Missouri River. After a major flood, the basement was filled with dirt and debris and was a "puddle of mud". They liked the sound of the phrase, added the extra letter D, and had their name. A hard rock band that is played on both alternative and standard rock stations, they released two independent albums and broke up. Scantlin retained the band name and formed a whole new Puddle Of Mudd after relocating to California. It was this new line-up of the band that would become a smash hit. 1994-present.
