PRIMITIVE RADIO GODS

From Santa Barbara, California.  Led by Chris O'Connor (vocals/guitar) with Jeff Sparks (vocals/bass), Tim Lauterio (drums) and Luke McAuliffe (guitar).  Formerly The I-Rails, they had released four albums to little recognition and the band went their separate ways.  Their breakthrough hit "Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand" was recorded in 1991, released independently in 1994 and finally became a hit in 1996.  The song samples B.B. King's "How Blue Can You Get?".  Despite the lucky break, their would be no further hits.  1996-present.
