POWERMAN 5000

 

 

From Boston, Massachusetts.  Led by Spider One (Mike Cummings)(vocals) with M33 (Mike Tempesta)(guitar), Adam "12" Williams (guitar), Dorian Heartsong (bass) and Allan Pahanish (drums). Spider is the brother of White Zombie leader Rob Zombie while M33 (Mike) is brother of White Zombie drummer John Tempesta.  While the White Zombie connection is obvious in the vocals, unfortunately this thumping metal unit does not have the musical ingenuity or scope to mach the previous' importance.  Spider began his career as MC Spider in 1990 with a twelve inch release.  He earned local kudos as "best rap act" before developing Powerman 5000 or as it is sometimes spelled; PM5K.  Only weeks before the release of "Anyone..." Spider pulled the album out of release and went to work on another album of material.  This caused a huge rift in the band with bassist Dorian "27" Heartsong and drummer Allan Pahanish quitting three weeks later.  1993-present.
