POI DOG PONDERING
From Chicago, Illinois. This band was originally from Hawaii, then Austin, Texas before settling in the windy city. Led by Frank Orrall (vocals) with Paul Mertens (saxophone), Susan Voelz (violin) and an ever evolving group of side players. Guitar based pop with world music touches that later evolved into dance funk. Onetime members include Abra Moore who went on to a solo career but still considers herself a "floating" member of the band and Steve Goulding (drums) who is also a member of The Mekons. Orrall finally halted the band in 1998, only to resume work on the project after a few years vacation. The band currently includes 13 players! 1984-98/2000-present.
