POE

From New York City.  Poe's real name is Annie Danielewski.  The daughter of film director Tad Danielewski, she grew up abroad in Europe, Asia and Utah (which can seem like a foreign country if you've ever lived there!).  After her parents divorced, she left home at age 16 and was a homeless individual in New York City for a time.  Because of her age and her legal emancipation from her parents, she was able to obtain a full scholarship from Princeton University.  She honed her musical chops while in college and the rest is history! She named herself after one of her favorite writers, Edgar Allen Poe and she also writes science fiction stories herself!  She has been romantically involved with Alice In Chains bassist Mike Inez.  Poe has not released any new material since 2000 because of entanglements with her former record company but keeps an active website informing fans of current activities.  1995-present.
