THE PLIMSOULS

From Los Angeles.  Peter Case (vocals/guitar) formed this band in 1980 with Eddie Munoz (guitar), Dave Pahoa (bass) and Lou Ramirez (drums).  Case's reputation as one third of L.A. punk band The Nerves gave him an edge that was undeniable.  After one indy EP, followed by a major label album that stiffed, the band bit back hard with an independent 12".  That song was "A Million Miles Away" which nailed them a new recording deal and a featured place in the movie "Valley Girl".  Unfortunately the next album again went nowhere and the band split.  Case went on to a solo career as a folk/blues artist.  In 1994 the band reunited to perform a new version of their sole hit for the soundtrack to the movie "Speed".  This went so well that a whole new Plimsouls album was released in 1997!  The new line-up replaces Ramirez with Blondie pounder Clem Burke.  1980-83/1994-present.
