PEACE CHOIR
Formed by Lenny Kravitz in response to the first Gulf War and shortly after meeting and befriending Yoko Ono, wife of one of Kravitz' greatest idols, John Lennon. Kravitz made good friends with both Ono and her son Sean Lennon. Learning about activism from one of the masters, Kravitz gathered together the talents of Cyndi Lauper, Peter Gabriel, Terrence Trent D'Arby, Adam Ant, Iggy Pop, Little Steven, Ofra Haza, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Stewart and a slew of R&B, Rap, Jazz, and Rock stars in the chorus. The song was rewritten slightly by Lennon and Kravitz, then he managed to produce, record and release the track in two versions all within three weeks time. 1991.
