GRAHAM PARKER

From London. Graham Parker has been on many labels over the years but is one of the finest singer/songwriters to emerge in the late 70's. Often clumped with other angry young rockers of the time (Costello, Jackson, Hiatt, etc.) he is an impassioned live performer and curious wit as well. During the 80's, a strong comparison to Bruce Springsteen emerged and the two became acquainted which led to Springsteen contributing to Parker's "Up Escalator" album. As he matured, he left the British pub sound behind, moved to America and now lives in Woodstock, NY where he joined a local indoor soccer league! The turn of the century saw Parker taking a turn at writing and he released the book "Carp Fishing On Valium" and the tour diary "The Other Life Of Brian". Forsaking regular touring in the US due to overall lack of interest by the public at large, his latest recorded projects have become available directly through the internet. Fortunately Parker still makes live appearances as it suits his fancy. 1976-present.
