BETH ORTON
From Norfolk, England. Beth originally found success in Japan after her vocals appeared on recordings by The Chemical Brothers and William Orbit. Her first cd was a success but unavailable anywhere else in the world other than Japan. Mixing folk and acoustic styling with ambient and trip-hop backbeats, Orton has created a new sound that is unique and embraceable. Orton also suffers from Crohn's disease, a rare affliction that is also shared by Ben Watt of Everything But The Girl. This fateful coincidence has worked well in that the mutual disease led them to each other which has resulted in a fruitful artist/producer collaboration between the two. 1993-present.
