YOKO ONO
From Tokyo, Japan. In the 60's, Yoko was a multimedia artist. She had the fortune to marry the greatest rock and roller on the planet at the time, John Lennon. While her roaming wail was never appreciated by the members of The Beatles, it did pave the way for other sound-alike vocal outbursts from new wave bands like The B-52's. As a solo artist, her music ranges from genius to irritating. After her husband's murder, she threw herself into her work and created music as valid as any piece of alternative rock. She continues that music today as well, even after passing age 70! 1969-present.
