THE NORTHERN PIKES
From Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Led by Bryan Potvin (vocals/guitar) and Merl Bryck (vocals/guitar) with Jay Semko (vocals/bass) and Don Schmid (drums). A band that found great success in their homeland but none in the United States. Three fourths of the band were originally together in a group called The Idols who released a single as early as 1980. The band split in 1993 but reconvened for some live touring in 2000. Before they originally split they wrote and recorded the music theme for the television program "Due South". Their reunion tour was so successful that the band reformed permanently in 2001. 1985-93/2001-present.
