NAZZ
From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Led by Bob "Stewkey" Antoni (vocals/keyboards) with Todd Rundgren (vocals/guitar), Carson Van Osted (bass) and Thom Mooney (drums). The band named themselves after a song by The Yardbirds ("The Nazz Are Blue"). Creating some of the first psychedelic power pop that had an obvious influence on the next generation of alternative rock. Noted in this book for being the starting point of Todd Rundgren's career, their influence on other bands is notable with Stewkey later playing in a formative version of Cheap Trick. Stewkey continues to perform and release new music as Stewkey's Nazz. 1967-69.
