NRBQ
From Miami, Florida. A US version of the British pub rock band. The name is short for the very boring sounding New Rhythm and Blues Quartet. Led by Joey Spampinato (vocals/bass) and Terry Adams (vocals/piano) with Johnny Spampinato (vocals/bass) and Tommy Ardolino (drums). The band was discovered by blues artist Slim Harpo which helped them secure a recording contract. Beginning in the late 60's, they slowly built a steady following and like their peers The Flamin' Groovies, became legend for their power pop skills. They prefer to call their music "omnipop"! 1969-present.
