MORRISSEY
From Manchester, England. Stephen Morrissey (vocals) is the former lead singer of The Smiths and also spent time in Slaughter & The Dogs and The Nosebleeds, both bands with Billy Duffy who would later join The Cult. This brooding fellow spins tales of sorrow and sympathy with interesting vocals. In his youth he was the president of The New York Dolls fan club! As a lyricist, Morrissey is more than capable but needs a solid writing partner to complete his songwriting as evidenced by his past work with Duffy and with Johnny Marr in The Smiths. In 1995, Morrissey was treated for depression. Who would've guessed? The 90's were a quiet period for Morrissey and after moving to Los Angeles he became a cult icon for gay Mexican males. In 2004 Morrissey returned with his best album in many years and showing just how much musical clout he still controls, persuaded a reformation of The New York Dolls as well! 1988-present.
