MONO
From London. Led by Siobhan de Mare (vocals) with Martin Virgo (multi-instrumentalist). Much like Portishead, Stereolab, and other moody female voiced bands, their hit "Life In Mono" has a distinct feel that could have been plucked from the movie music of any French foreign film of the 60's. The music borders on lounge and oozes suaveness and sexuality. Siobhan's father was a drummer for The Shadows back in the 60's! Siobhan has since released an album under the name Violet Indiana, teamed with Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins fame in 2001. 1996.
