THE MISSION UK
From Leeds, England. Led by Wayne Hussey (vocals/guitar) and Craig Adams (bass) with Scott Garrett (drums). Both Hussey & Adams had been in The Sisters Of Mercy and quit to form their own group. Ominous, with heavy guitars, Hussey's vocal delivery is dark and forboding and their brand of gothic music runs a little truer than the Sisters' dance stylings. They originally called themselves The Sisterhood but found a fast lawsuit waiting from their previous band leader so they changed it quickly. Hussey decided to end the band to concentrate on producing and moved to the US to be with his American wife. Adams left the band to join The Cult for their last 90's recordings. Hussey however grew restless in his California life and began playing out as The Mission again which resulted in a misstep album of re-recorded hits. Reuniting with Adams for several years now the band is musically at full strength for the first time in a decade. Wayne's real name appears to be Jerry Lovelock! 1986-95/1999-present.
