MISSING PERSONS

From Los Angeles.  Led by Dale Bozzio (vocals) and Terry Bozzio (drums) with Warren Cuccurullo (guitar) and Patrick O'Hearn (bass).  The entire group are comprised of former members of Frank Zappa's touring band!  Originally calling themselves U.S. Drag, Dale took her good looks (a former Playboy bunny) and made one of new wave's more popular singing vixens come to life.  Her aluminum foil dresses and plastic bras drew as much attention as the neon pink streaks in her blonde hair (a style stolen almost 20 years later by No Doubt's Gwen Stefani).  The vocals were quirky, the playing was tight.  The band made an early appearance under the name Teddy & The Ruff Riders in a movie called "Lunch Wagon".   Tension grew between the married Bozzios which split the band as well as their marriage.  Dale released a solo album on Prince's Paisley Park label that was more Prince sounding than Missing Persons. Cuccurullo took his act to Duran Duran where he replaced Andy Taylor on guitar. O'Hearn became a solo new age act.  Terry Bozzio continues to play his drums backing Jeff Beck among others.  As of 1994, Dale has returned to performing under the Missing Persons name with a new backing band.  In 2001 the original line up reformed for a tour but no future recordings. Cuccurullo was expelled from Duran Duran when they decided to do an original member reunion and has since participated in Missing Persons shows, released solo recordings and in a questionable move has started an internet site where you can watch him having sex with groupies!  An avid bodybuilder, he also appeared in an issue of Playgirl magazine back in 1983.  1982-86/2001-present.
