THE MISFITS

From Lodi, New Jersey. Led by Glenn Danzig (vocals) with Jerry "Only" Caiafa (bass), "Doyle" Caiafa (guitar) and Joey Image (drums). This independent minded punk band was largely ignored in their heyday. Most of their releases were on hard to obtain independent singles that were often given away at performances. Their reputation spread largely by word of mouth. Danzig dissolved the band and formed Samhain (pronounced sah-wain) and then Danzig. In 1995, the group reformed without Danzig or Image and continue to record and tour today, but truly, what is a band without its lead singer? The brothers Caiafa continue on with an ever changing line-up of singers and drummers. As of 2004, the latest line-up includes former Black Flag/Red Kross singer Dez Cadena and former Voidoids/Ramones drummer Marc Bell. 1977-83/1995-present.
