MATERIAL ISSUE
From Chicago, Illinois. Led by Jim Ellison (vocals/guitar) with Ted Ansani (bass) and Mike Zelenko (drums). Power pop and rock, Ellison's spirited performance always translated great to vinyl and cd. It is not unlikely that this power trio would have made it to the top. Jim Ellison however felt differently and in June of 1996 committed suicide, depressed over the band's lack of success, he entered his garage, turned on his car and died of asphyxiation. A great loss to alternative rock, perhaps even greater than that of Kurt Cobain. 1987-96.
