MARY'S DANISH

From Los Angeles. Led by Julie Ritter (vocals) and Gretchen Seager (vocals) with Louis Gutierrez (guitar), David King (guitar), Chris Wagner (bass) and Jim Bradley Jr. (drums). This band had been very close to success when their record company (Morgan Creek) decided not to support them or release any new material submitted but keep them legally committed to the label. This unfortunately led to the dissolution of the band. Since their last label release, Ritter released a solo spoken word disc of poetry and a new music disc in 1999. Seager and Gutierrez meanwhile became Battery Acid. Gutierrez is a co-songwriter of The Bangles hit "Walking Down Your Street" and is also married to Seager. The band has reformed to play reunion gigs in the past year. Bradley became the drummer for rap rockers Crazy Town! 1989-93.
