THE MARCH VIOLETS
From Leeds, England. Led by Simon Denbigh (vocals) with Cleo Murray (vocals), Rosie Garland (backing vocals), Laurence Elliot (bass) and Tom Ashton (guitar). A singles band in the best sense. Originally a gothic band, the band took a decidedly pop direction when Denbigh quit and Murray took over the lead. Best known in the US for their cover of The Rolling Stones' "Miss Amanda Jones" which was used prominently in the film "Some Kind Of Wonderful". Ashton later became a member of Clan Of Xymox. A live reunion performance including Denbigh, Garland and Ashton took place in Leeds in 2007, 25 years after their first recordings! 1982-84.
